Trips Outside Athens
(PH) Satisfy the need for adventure with our half and full day excursions, and experience the best and most beautiful the Greek coast and country have to offer!
If you have the time, why limit yourself to staying put in Athens when there’s a whole country to explore? If you’re looking to get out and about for a full day trip, there are a ton of different sites and visits to choose from. The decision is yours to pick and choose wherever you’d like to go on any given day.
For example, I highly recommend the Argoloid peninsula, where you can visit Ancient Corinth (just an hour from the city), and then Nafplion, a beautiful town about 2 hours from Athens in close proximity to Ancient Epidaurus, Mycenae, and Nemea. Stopping for lunch at Nafplion may be to your liking, or if not, perhaps Nea Kios, a quiet village nearby with absolutely exquisite fresh fish.
Of course, you can’t manage to fit all of that in one day, so we recommend using the following links to read a bit and see what personally appeals to you. The last time I did this, with my parents and some of their friends, we stopped at the Corinth Canal for a coffee and a quick photo (though sadly, nobody was quite up for a bungee jump into the canal). This was followed by a visit to Ancient Corinth, a winery stop, a very quick look at Mycenae, finally wrapping up with lunch, dessert, coffee, and an hour of so wandering the old town in Nafplion.
Take a look around and see what you like!
Island destinations and sites are often high on our guests’ to-do lists, but with so many to choose from, finding something right can be difficult. This tour by boat runs through three islands: Aegina, with its fish markets and mountaintop temple, Hydra, where the shops are many and cars are nowhere to be found, and finishing at quiet, tranquil Poros.
This relaxing trip for up to 8 spends the afternoon at peace, sailing along the Southern coast as you munch on sparkling wine and mezedes before returning to a beautiful sunset vista from the water. Available May-June and September-October only.
